Dakota Fanning is perfectly cast as Rachel, a pre-teen who is terrified of the apocalyptic world she now lives in. Not to intentionally quote another Cruise movie, but it's really (k)night and day with these kids. Cruise plays Ray Ferrier, father to both Rachel and Robbie. In that regard, the film works most of the time. He gets a few stunts and an action scene or two (because why wouldn't you take advantage of his talent) but it's much more about family than it is about anything else. It only makes up a matter of a few days following the first attack and the immediate aftermath.īecause of that, Cruise is given more to do dramatically than per usual. I think the one thing that separates this film from others is that Tom Cruise or any of the other actors aren't playing characters that fight the aliens, or "tripods" as they call them.

There have been so many of these alien invasion films over the years, so it's difficult for any of them to feel fresh and stick out to me. Wells novel of the same name, about a father and his children trying to cope with a global alien invasion. War of the Worlds is loosely based on the H.G. Only on Netflix. When one of the greatest filmmakers in history makes a science fiction film, which is one of his biggest strengths, you have no choice but to check it out. The epic conclusion to Masters of the Universe: Revelation - Part 2 premieres on November 23rd. He-Man is a very prominent character in the story.
#WAR OF RIGHTS TRAILER SERIES#
I think this trailer will ease the minds of fans who didn’t like the first part of the series and make them happy.

And after decades of secrets tore them apart, it’s up to Teela to reunite the broken band of heroes, and solve the mystery of the missing Sword of Power in a race against time to restore Eternia and prevent the end of the universe. After a cataclysmic battle between He-Man and Skeletor, Eternia is fractured and the Guardians of Grayskull are scattered. The war for Eternia culminates in MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE: REVELATION, an innovative and action-packed animated series that picks up where the iconic characters left off decades ago. On top of that, Teela is looking to tap into some magical powers to take on Evil Lyn. As you’ll see in the trailer, He-Man is back with a vengeance as he completely hulks out as he harnesses the Power of Greyskull! Skeletor wants to kill He-Man once and far all, but I don’t think he stands a chance. We will now get to see how this story will continue. If you want to light the whole world on fire, in terms of destroying a fandom, you’d take He-Man out and be like, 'That’s it, he’s gone, bye!' Now what they’ve done is they’ve found really interesting ways to turn the dynamics of the show on its head and raise the stakes to a point that the original never saw." This is a bait and switch.'"Ĭhris Wood, who voices He-Man, tried to ease the minds of fans, explaining: Like, that blew my mind, bunch of people being like, ‘Oh, I smell it.

"I see people online go, ‘Hey man, they’re getting rid of He-Man!' Like, you really fucking think Mattel Television, who hired me and paid me money, wants to do a fucking Masters of the Universe show without He-Man? Grow the fuck up, man. This backlash caught Smith off guard and he lashed back at the fans saying: The first part of the series was decent, but a lot of fans lashed out over the lack of He-Man. Netflix has dropped the first trailer for Kevin Smith’s Masters of the Universe: Revelation - Part 2.
